Corby and District Group of Advanced Motorists was established in 1989. We are affiliated to IAM and are a registered charity. Our principal aims are to improve road safety by preparing drivers for the IAM Driving Tests.
The area covered by our activities broadly embraces the Rockingham Forest district and includes Corby, Kettering, Market Harborough, Oundle, Rutland and East Northamptonshire.
The Advanced Driving Test.
We run courses and 1 to 1 coaching to help drivers reach the standard required to pass the IAM Advanced Driving Test.
We hold free assessment drives in the weeks leading up to a course and free taster sessions for those interested in joining IAM. These drives are open to all motorists holding a current driving license for the vehicle being driven. Refer to the events section for more details or contact us to arrange for a taster session.
Taking the Advanced Driving Test is only the start.
The IAM F1RST Register recognises excellence during the IAM advanced driving or riding test. Members who achieve a F1RST will receive a special certificate and membership card complete with the F1RST logo. Their names are also entered into the F1RST register.
The F1RST Register provides a means for IAM members to improve their road skills by retaking an assessment and working on the areas where a score of less than 1 was achieved.
